Letter from the campus head

8 December 2017

Dear Parents and Staff

2017 has been a busy year for both the Pre-Prep and the Preparatory and we have worked exceptionally hard to rebrand ourselves more towards the roots of our founding school in 1936, as a stand-alone Preparatory School educating boys and now girls from age 3 to 13.

If we were to cast our minds back to May of 2016 and where we currently are today, I do think we can be exceptionally proud of the progress we have made as well as the choices taken in addressing the sustainability of both the Pre-Primary (now Pre-Prep) and the Preparatory School.  I really would like to thank the Board Members for the many hours given, expertise offered and in particular the support of my role as the Headmaster during this transition time.  I do believe this year already has shown great results in getting St George’s Prep to where we aspire to be, which is the leading Independent Preparatory School in Port Elizabeth and the Eastern Cape.

The Board’s willingness to invest in the facilities and infra-structure of the school certainly has painted a positive picture.  We have gained much support from our current parent body and also that of the prospective market in Port Elizabeth and further afield.  It has been most encouraging to see families moving to Port Elizabeth who really value Independent Schooling, and who see us as their first choice school.

I would like to thank the Prep Senior Management Team as well as all our staff members for their loyal and dedicated service during a period that has not always been easy.  I strongly believe, as mentioned during my prize giving speeches, that the people within our buildings are the real success of a school, and we are very appreciative of the wonderful men and women and boys and girls we have here at St George’s Prep!

We would like to wish all of our families the very best during the forthcoming festive season and hope that you all get an opportunity to spend some very special family time together.

Thank you again for your continued support of our special school, it really is appreciated!

Kind regards
Alex Hall-  Campus Head
